May 2, 2005 - Verinform Systems, Inc., and Data Harbor, Inc., two leaders in managing data for the nation's teaching hospitals, have entered into a letter of intent to combine their residency management software businesses. The companies are engaged in discussions that are expected to result in a final agreement by the end of June. Together, the two companies provide software solutions to over 70,000 users at US-based academic medical centers.

Data Harbor's GMEToolKit and Verinform's VerinformRM are state-of-the-art systems for enabling academic medical centers to track and analyze information regarding physician training. Such information includes the procedures that the physicians learn to perform, evaluations of their progress, compliance with limits on work hours, and government funding of physician training.
