Transaction expands Verinform's Graduate Medical Education (GME) customer base
Nationwide and enhances product development and support capabilities.
Portland, Oregon, August 3, 2005 - Verinform Systems, Inc., has completed its acquisition of the GMEToolKitT residency information management system from Chicago-based Data Harbor, Inc. Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
Verinform now provides two systems - VerinformRMT and GMEToolKit - that enable teaching hospitals to track and manage complex information associated with training physicians. Both VerinformRM and GMEToolKit are web-based systems designed to integrate physician training information across all medical programs at an institution. Seamless integration of information across programs (such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Pediatrics) provides an institution's Graduate Medical Education office with powerful tools for analyzing and improving the training process. Such complete integration of information also dramatically increases the reliability of federal cost and financial reports while reducing the preparation effort required.
Verinform's acquisition of GMEToolKit significantly expands the company's marketplace presence. More than 50,000 users, including trainee physicians, faculty supervisors and residency coordinators, at over 500 hospitals and affiliated medical centers use either VerinformRM or GMEToolKit.
A 17-person support and development team is now positioned to provide prompt and effective customer assistance to both RM and GMEToolKit users. In the coming months the two products are expected to converge and future products will incorporate the best features of both systems, increasing value provided to current and future customers.
"Bringing GMEToolKit under the same roof as VerinformRM enables us to improve both systems and substantially benefit our users," said Dina Dickerson, Verinform's Chief Executive Officer. "This acquisition will help ensure that Verinform continues to provide teaching hospitals with the most advanced and sophisticated information tools available to train new physicians, monitor their education, and receive payment for services provided."
